Maud Paul
b. 1998, France
Lives and works in Bruxelles (BEL)
Maud Paul presents drawings, depicting intimate domestic scenes, simple furnishings and moments of memory and reflection. These works are created intuitively, often at home or while traveling, capturing fleeting emotions and everyday life.
She works also with furniture design, including hand bent metal and soft textile chairs. These pieces explore the balance between structure and comfort, offering a sense of protection and presence while complementing the narratives suggested in her drawings.
Paul studied Fine Art & Design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, graduating in 2021 and later deepened her design practice in Maastricht. Residencies, including Hubert d’Ursel’s program in Portugal, contributed to her approach of combining functional forms with intimate storytelling, creating works that engage both physically and emotionally.
