Nina Bachmann
b. 1990, Germany
Lives and works in Munich (DE)
In her work, Nina Bachmann explores the contradictions between desire and emptiness, pleasure and fear, dominance and submission. Her vivid scenes are filled with figures chasing luxury, status and self indulgence, characters who reflect both fascination and irony toward a world defined by excess and privilege.
Using bold colors and expressive gestures, she turns ordinary moments into humorous and socially aware commentaries. Her figures, often caught between laughter and unease, mirror the playful yet critical tone that runs through her practice. Through exaggeration and wit, Bachmann captures the absurd beauty of modern hedonism while revealing its underlying fragility.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Applied Sciences in Munich in 2016. Her work has been shown internationally in solo and group exhibitions at galleries including Tang Contemporary Art in Beijing, La Cause in Madrid, IRL in New York and Moosey in London.
